I like the fifth point too: The ambiguity is the message. It makes us ask all kinds of questions. I wish this movie had been around when I was growing up. It might have just saved me from 16 years of trying to fit in the happily-ever-after myth.
I saw that - it's a good article and makes some great points. Of course, the comments section is always most entertaining/horrifying.
